Scheduling and Appointments

We will confirm your surgery date and time with you. Please plan to arrive 15-30 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow time for check-in. If you need to make any changes or have questions about your appointment, please call our office right away.

Health and Medication

Your health and safety are our top priorities. Please inform us of any changes to your medical history, allergies, or medications since your last visit.

  • Take Necessary Medications: If you take daily medications for conditions like high blood pressure, please take them as usual with a small sip of water, unless we instruct you otherwise
  • Inform Us of Illness: If you develop a cold, fever, or any other illness before your surgery, please let us know immediately

Fasting Requirements

For your safety during sedation, you must have an empty stomach. Please follow these guidelines carefully.

Do not eat or drink anything, including water, for at least eight hours before your surgery. It is also important to avoid smoking and alcohol for at least 24 hours before your procedure. Failure to follow these fasting requirements may result in the cancellation of your surgery.

Pre-Operative Hygiene

Good hygiene before your surgery helps reduce the risk of infection. Please brush and floss your teeth thoroughly before coming to our office. Do not wear any makeup, nail polish, or jewelry on the day of your surgery. We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing to help you feel relaxed.

Transportation and Support

You will not be able to drive after receiving sedation. You must arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home from your appointment. For your safety, this person should also stay with you for at least 24 hours following your procedure to provide support as you recover.

Special Instructions

Depending on your specific procedure, we may provide you with special instructions, such as using a prescription antibacterial mouthwash before your surgery. Please follow any personalized directions given to you by your surgeon.

Consent Forms and Paperwork

Please complete all necessary consent forms and pre-surgery paperwork before you arrive. You can often do this through our secure patient portal. Remember to bring your identification and any insurance information with you on the day of your surgery.

Day of Surgery Checklist

Here is a simple checklist to review before you leave for our office:

  • Confirm you have followed all fasting requirements
  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing
  • Bring completed consent forms and ID
  • Ensure your responsible adult driver is arranged
